This project is a great example of how drastic of a renovation can take place in such a small area; in this case, a small back yard butted up against an alley. We first raised to whole yard to elevate the back approximately 2.5′ above the alley with a custom timber wall. Adding a row of skyrocket junipers around the perimeter enhanced privacy and further helped section off the back patio which we then converted into a natural cut flagstone finish. Lastly, was the design and construction of the custom air conditioner corral. Not only does it serves the obvious function of hiding the unit itself but it actually helps to cut down a large portion of the noise it produces by deflecting the sound waves away from the area of personal use.
